The Kenosha Lightning is a USA Hockey Spring program that is open to all current 8th graders and high schoolers up to current 11th graders.  Graduating seniors are not eligible for any games. This program is not affiliated with any school district or club. It is managed independently of all schools activities. (Graduated seniors just looking to skate, should reach out to the coaches.)

The spring program is designed to keep local players competing at a high level, while still allowing (and encouraging) them to participate in other spring sports or activities.  We look to provide that high school hockey experience of playing for your community.  Practices will involve positional coaching, advanced skill work and small area games. Additionally, we will facilitate a few scrimmages versus other simlar age groups and Illinois High Schools.

Practices start April 3rd and run until Sunday, May 19th.  Games will be scattered throughout the session, and will be announce once they are scheduled.  We will also will have weekly weight room sessions that are highly recommended. These sessions will take place at the Indian Trail Weight Room and are lead by a certified strength coach.

The ice times are as follows at the RecPlex

Sunday Evenings  4:50pm – 7:20pm *

Wednesday's 9:10-10:10 pm (Skills only, Full Group)

*The Sunday slot will likely be split into two groups but those groups will be communicated after the first or second practice.  We may also use the Sunday slot for games if needed.

The Coaching Staff will be made up of current and former NCAA D1, D3,  NAHL and OHL players. Goalie coaching will also be provided at select practices.

Participants will be required to register with USA hockey.

Cost of the spring program is $575
